FALSE LASHES!!!!

Ok so false lashes have been something I had never considered before, unless I was trying to come up with some trickie Halloween costume! However, as I have been watching tutorial videos more and more, I notice that nice and full eyelashes make a complete difference on a makeup look!

According to a Covergil survey, 50% of women would choose mascara if they could only pick one make up product! It's a big deal.

Now, I don't find extravagant, extreme long and full lashes attractive. The closer to natural lashes the look of them, the better for me.

So below I have found this brand (sorry the box is empty because the lashes are on my eyes!). The price range goes from $3.79 - $5.49 and you can get them online as well for less than $3.00 (I just purchase a 4-pack from Amazon for $11.96). Also, they do not come with glue so you need to buy that separately.

Of course there are tons of other products out there, but this way seems to do the trick for me.

The pictures below are my eyes with and without lashes:

With false lashes:

Without false lashes (only black mascara)

Quite a difference huh?

Well everything seems nice and easy, however, applying these puppies require lots of practice (which I have been doing by the way). Several times I had to give up on them because I had run out of time. I have been putting my makeup on in the morning before I leave for work and just like yesterday, I had to peel them off because I hadn't place them correctly and it looked super artificial. I guess once you get the hang of it, it gets much easier.

What do you think?

Looks...

Just testing out new colors....

Date Night

I love when hubby acts spontaneausly and decide to do something cool. We had a Groupon that expired yesterday for a Pub in the city so he decided to come over and meet me.

We had a great time. The food was very good even thou I ordered a Brat burger thinking that "Brat" was just a silly name for the beef burguer. Once I started biting into it I notice that the meat was too light to be beed! Well, as it turns out, it was a burger made out of a certain type of sausage! lol
I always do that kind of stupid shit. It was good anyway. Stuffed with aged gouda, and a side of delicious asiago fries! Yummy!!!!

The place was very close to the Washington Square Park so we went there for a little walk after dinner and kissed passionately under the rain! :)

Nothing like a good $4.00 dark beer :)

Washington Square Park, NYC ( not it's not the Arc de Triomphe!)

Have a good weekend everyone!

Eye Look...

This is one of the looks I have achieved using the NYX smokey eye and casting roll eyeshadow pallettes. I am getting better at this...not sure where I would wear this kind of look since I don't really go out that much but it's fun to just test it out!

Enough with the sad posting in this blog! It's time for something fun (and expensive at times). On that note,  I would like to confess my most new addiction: MAKEUP! (besides cosmetics in general, perfumes and nail polishes - material for another post).

This past holiday season, my mother-in-law said something to me that got me thinking... "You should always wear make - little or much- but always wear it!"

At first i thought it was silly, however the simple action of wearing makeup boosts my confidence, self esteem and makes me feel prettier (whether it is true or not it's another story).

So with my addiction for makeup, came my addiction to makeup tutorial videos on youtube (it's amazing how you can find reviews in almost every product out there) and that's how I came accross this makeup brand called NYX.

A super affordable (compared to high end brands such as MAC, Smashbox, etc) and extensive line of makeup that really got me hooked.

The first thing I bought was a jumbo pencil in the color MILK. It's a matte white that works perfectly as a base for eyeshadow. I apply it over eyeshadow primer and works great.
Next I got 3 eyeshadow palletes (10 eyeshadows each), a concealer and a lip gloss.
The eyeshadow palletes look like this:
The shades I got were: caviar and bubbles (old champagne and caviar), casting roll and smokey eyes. Check out their website for details on the colors. They pretty pigmented and don't have a lot of fall out. I have not used all the pallettes yet. The cavier and bubbles is great for everyday wear. Pretty handy for natural everyday looks.

The lip gloss is called Miami Babe. It's a lovely matte nude color.

Lastly, this was the concealer. I am very happy with this actually. The coverage is very good. A little thick but it works great with my skin. I forgot the shade name but this is what it looks like.
Overall, very happy with the quality and price of the products. Another tip I learned throughout my research is of a website called Cherry Culture that sells NYX and offer several discounts. Right now lots of their products are on sale. Check it out!
